Fluorite inclusions in Quartz
Amborompotsy, Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar
3.6 x 0.8 x 0.8 cm.
A very rare specimen from a one-time 2004 find in Madagascar. These first appeared at the Tucson show in 2005 – all crystals came from a single pocket and there have been no more found. The find consisted of Quartz crystals containing unique inclusions of blue/purple Fluorite, mostly octahedral or octahedral with cubic modifications. Very few of the Quartz crystals had clear faces; most had a rather silky texture and it was difficult to see details of the inclusions clearly. This is a single terminated crystal that is complete all the way around and in excellent condition.
