Quartz, Fluorite inclusions
Amborompotsy, Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar
4.8 x 2.3 x 2.0 cm.
A very rare specimen from a one-time 2004 find in Madagascar. These first appeared at the Tucson show in 2005 – all crystals came from a single pocket and there have been no more found. The find consisted of Quartz crystals containing unique inclusions of blue/purple Fluorite, mostly octahedral or octahedral with cubic modifications. Very few of the Quartz crystals had clear faces; most had a rather silky texture and it was difficult to see details of the inclusions clearly. This is a large terminated crystal that contains several Fluorite crystal inclusions and has been left in its natural, unpolished state. The Fluorite crystals are a lovely violet color. Don’t miss out on this – it’s been years since this discovery and extensive exploration has yielded no more material.
